Dual Meet Score

Q: How are dual meets (Saturday meets) scored?

A: In dual meets, individual swimming events are scored as follows: Five points for first place, three points for second place and one point for third place. For the relay events, the team that finishes first earns seven points, and the other team earns zero points.

The points from all individual events and relay events are totaled to determine which team is the winner of the dual meet.

Q: Why is there an "X" next to my child's name on the meet entries/the meet sheet/the ladder/her ribbon?   

A:  The "X" in any (and most likely all) of these spots indicates that your child swam in an exhibition heat/event.  Exhibition heats are added to a Dual meet, are not scored, but give additional swimmers exposure to an "A" meet.  Exhibition heats are held at the invitation of the home team, with acceptance by the visiting team, and their occurrence may vary greatly from week to week.

Q: Whom should I turn to if I have Ribbons related inquiry?
A: If anyone has any problem or concerns regarding their ribbons, please direct your question to either Pat Brophy or Susan Ruth (Trahan).  You may do so by leaving a message in their boxes if you are not sure who they are.

Q: Is the Chantilly Highlands Dolphins Swim Team open to residents of other neighborhoods?
A: No. All swimmers must be current residents of Chantilly Highlands with full pool privileges as indicated in the Chantilly Highlands Homeowners Association (CHHA) Pool Rules.
